Lee and I are starting to get the whole thing clabored together but first and formost functional. Here’s a look at the function of user interface. I found this cleaver interface for the Arduino that will take signals from a computor mouse. Then we send signals to the stepper motor drives. Apply power…have fun.
OK I got some pictures to show you. After the floors are swept and the barriers wer taken down from the entery ways here is more or less the fantastic show we (Chris Gulick, Lee Shiney, and Tom McGuire) have put up at the Wichita Art Museum called “interACTIVE”. Museum hours are 10:00 to 5:00 Tues to Sat. and 12:00 to 5:00 Sunday. Saturdays are free admition
Disclaimer: static photos do not accurately portray the fastinating movement and interacitivity so come and see it for your self.
Just this week we have found an crack in the foundation of the art museum. Through this opening we have been able to smuggle tons of new media. We’ve been working day and night to organize this material in an operation we are calling ”INTERactive”. Occasionally administrative and security personnel have stumbled on to our operation. They think it’s wonderful. So far so good….
Something I’ve noticed lately about when the three of us get together on a project. Our wives seen to be happy and enjoy our adventures. I think we as artists tend to be in a constant search for identity and that puts our wives on edge. I guess they might feel like we are unstable. I guess their are right but it’s a chanenge we enjoy none the less. So aparently when we work together they think we are enjoying our selves and are working toward a more stable environment. How odd.Well, I’m glad their happy about it any way.
OK I got some paint on a wheel. Not too bad I think. There is speed control on the motor too but the string is noisy. I think I’m going to have to put felt in the groves.
Well it’s almost time to start making regular visits to the museum. I painted the Shadow boxes yesterday. I was just gioing to varnish them but with all the patches and rough edges they really didn’t look that good.
We’ve still got a lot of work to do but I’m ready to dive into it and do what it takes to make it work.
